This approach is not one to merely cope, but actually transforms the stress that we feel by seeing a more positive perspective. I have purchased and read the book Transforming Stress and I was quite surprised at how quickly and effectively it worked. I remember one weekend when I kept reflecting on a judgement someone had made about me and I felt quite upset about it, and so I decided to try the heartmath technique and I noticed that after practicing it for only two days I had to think hard to remember the exact story of what the person had said about me. Knowing the way that I am, usually bothered by such things over a prolonged period, I knew it was strange to suddenly struggle to remember the details fully after only two days. So now whenever I feel upset or stressed I quickly lock in to my heart, breathe deeply and give thanks, and that way I reduce my stress within the very moment.
